The 114th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) with the theme “Tapat na Serbisyo Alay Ko Dahil Lingkod Bayani Ako” kicks off with a fun run on Sept. 6, 5:00 a.m. at the SM Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) opened registration to the R.A.C.E. to Serve Fun Run.

Now on its fourth year, the fun run is open to all Filipino citizens 18 years old and above. Participants below 18 years old will be required to secure permission from their parents or guardians.

Registration fee is PHP150 inclusive of race bib.

Interested runners should sign up until July 31 at any CSC National Capital Region (NCR) Field Office. Registration forms may be downloaded from the CSC NCR website www.cscncr.com.

No on-site registration shall be done on the day of the run.

Proceeds of the fun run will go to the Pondong Pamanang Lingkod Bayani, the fund for families of state workers who died in line of duty.

Regional fun runs will also be held. Please contact the CSC Regional Offices for schedule of events.

Another event lined up for the PCSA is the Government Choral Competition, open to all government choral groups with 20 to 30 members.

Interested choral groups should submit the following: registration form; list of singers, conductor, and accompanist; photocopy of agency ID of each singer showing his/her photo and signature; and an audio-video recording in .avi or .mpg format by July 25, 5 p.m. to the designated regional centers, namely, CSC Regional Office (RO) No. 3 in Pampanga for Luzon participants, CSC RO6 in Iloilo for Visayas participants, CSC RO11 in Davao City for Mindanao participants, and CSC NCR for Metro Manila participants.

Finalists shall be notified by email on or before Aug. 8.

The grand finals will be held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines on Sept. 30.

Grand prize winners will receive PHP150,000 cash prize and plaque. First, second, and third runners-up will receive plaques and PHP100,000, PHP70,000, and PHP50,000, respectively.

The CSC spearheads the annual celebration of the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary held every September in commemoration of the birth of the civil service in the country on Sept. 19, 1900.
